Notes to my future thin self

Hello future me. This is you, Feb 15, 2016. You are now 90 pounds overweight. Don't let that freak you out. You will never weigh what the charts say you should weigh. Look at your family. They don't have skinny genes so don't try to be something you're not.

Let's set some realistic goals. First, live healthy...not because you're supposed to but because you deserve it! Everyone should live in a way that makes them happy and right now, wearing these tight clothes does not make you happy. So let's agree to make some changes and live a healthier lifestyle.

Second, have fun. This is not a's a new start...a second chance to be the person you know you can be. So embrace it and enjoy your new life.

And third...remember to take time for those you love. You may be busy and rushing around trying to gets things done, but taking time to be with those who care about you is worth a million times more than making that deadline...maybe not to you, but to the person you stop to spend time with. Letting then know you want to be with them is priceless to them.

That's it for now. We will talk again soon.

Your chubby but determined past self.

    Hi lilygirl1970,

Wow. This is a flippin' fantastic blog post, and we really appreciate you sharing it with us (and your future self). This is going to serve as a great reminder in the future, both near and far, and I encourage you to share it with others on the forum if possible. Generally speaking, blog posts aren't seen by many members, but this is definitely worth sharing. If you need some help doing so, please private message me and I'll make sure you're taken care of.

Keep up the amazing work, my friend!

Okay. It's now almost two months later. You started out strong and lost 12 pounds and then....MEXICO!!! The food, the drinks, the all-inclusive everything!! What a blast!!

And then back home where things settled into a regular if not boring routine. The scales were up quite a bit but they have settled down and you are still down 8 pounds since Feb 15. GREAT JOB! It takes a lot of willpower to break that splurging habit that vacations bring on. You have managed to keep off 60% of the first month's loss!

Now it's time to get back at it and set your mind to losing the next 10. You can do this!! Size 16 we come!!!
